This week or so, I’ve been working on concepts for a new hotel brand/company to be based in the UK, and consequently have been pulling a lot of images of everything British. I’ve never had the Jasper Conrad book “Country For A While” (buy it – it’s breathtaking) and always adored the photography in it, but I never followed up on the photographer before. Discovering Andrew Montgomery’s work has felt a bit like making a new friend that you’ll keep for life. The humanity, sense of dignity, humor and kindness that jump out of the photos somehow fill me with optimism for the fate of the world. The same feeling I get sitting in a garden under a bush of lilacs in bloom watching squirrels play. Absolutely lovely.

say something nice!
